Bye-Bye Binky

WOW!! I had forgotten what it was like for a little one to cry it out. Tonight, cold turkey, we ditched the binkies. With no warning might I add. Up until today Jonathan had been able to have his binky at night however he would sneak it often throughout the day if we were home. There are no binkies at school (our rule). After reading tonight's book he immediately started asking for his bink. Sadly we explained that we didn't know where the binks were, that maybe they were on a trip. Our sweet, sweet boy asked with tears in his eyes, "with Lacey?" and we kind of ran with it..."um, yeah, maybe they are on a trip with Lacey" and the flood gates opened followed by 2 minutes tears, 2 minutes silence, 1 minute tears, and then silence. Yes, I timed it and yes, it was hard, oh so hard but I think it was all for the better. Now to see what the morning brings...
