Jonathan tested positive for RSV. Since it is a virus there is nothing that can be given for it, however there are signs to look for as RSV can turn into something more serious. It's hard to say if Jonathan has seen the worst of it or not. It seems like almost ever day an old symptom dissipates, which is good, but a new symptom appears. Yesterday as far as his mood goes he was pretty cranky and unhappy most of the day. He stayed home with Josh until 2p and then our friend Milissa came over until I got home at 4p. From about 430p to 6p all he did was cry, similar to earlier in the day. Nothing would sooth him and of course the more he cried the more mucus he created and the more mucus he created the more he would cough and the more he would cough the harder it was to breathe! He eventually fell asleep in my arms at 6p so I took him to bed. That didn't last long as he couldn't breathe laying flat. He was rocked by Nana for a good hour and then we propped his crib mattress up with a pillow. This seemed to work miracles. He was the cutest little sick babe in that crib, all propped up. When Josh got home at 2a Jonathan had slid down and turned from his back to his belly. As scared as this made me we left him and he slept until 7a. It was touch and go from around 4a on as he'd wake up coughing and then fall back asleep.
Thus far the morning has gone well. His biggest problem is running around and not being able to get enough air in his lungs. He ate breakfast with the best of 'em and he's currently looking out the window at the heavy snow that is coming down. We're not expected to get much, I think a dusting to 1-inch. He loves looking out the window. Since he was little we've always joked and said, as he pulls the curtain back, "Hello World!"
It's still early (8am) but I'm hopeful today will go better than yesterday.
