Reflection

Sometimes I get caught up in the moment and reflect on where it is we, as a family, have been and where we're headed. Last night I started doing this as I was looking through Jonathan's baby book and my pregnancy journal. When I was nannying I stumbled across pregnancy journals that the mother had kept for both her children and I remember thinking how wonderful a gift that would be for my child when he/she grew older. It's only been 28 months since I wrote my pregnancy journal and Jonathan's not quite old enough to appreciate it's contents, but I trust that there will come a day when he opens the journal, reads the words, and appreciates the tenderness and love that it contains.

Jonathan and I took a loaf of banana bread over to the Lagasse/Giroux family this evening. It was so good to see them! Morgan (7 years) kept hugging me and it made me melt! Everyone appears, outwardly, to be doing as well as can be even though I know this is a very difficult time for them. Nicci (mom) said lots of gift certificates and donations have been coming in, which is wonderful to hear. I had an extra booster seat that I gave them so they could at least prop the babe up to eat. Tonight the 2 older girls were headed out for a sleepover allowing mom and dad to grab some alone time out to eat while baby M stayed with her grandparents. If you feel oh so inclined, donations can still be dropped off at any Merrill Merchant bank under the Lagasse Fire Fund.
